George Henry Freedman is born 6th March in Brooklyn, parents - Nathan & Rose Freedman, younger brother to Sidney Freedman

Syracuse University – Bachelor of Architecture (abandoned final project presumably for then relationship to continue in Europe)

1958

Manhattan, New York - works for Ely Jacques Kahn and Robert Jacob Architects. Collaborated to complete American Airlines first class lounge at John Fitzgerald Kennedy Airport

1961

Ibiza, Spain with partner Ronald Vance. Met Eric & Gail Rutherford (artists) and read a cook book creating life long interest in food by Alice B. Toklas (American-French chef, member of the Parisian avant-garde)

1963

Amsterdam, Holland - first exhibit in art gallery

1964

Brussels, Belgium - exhibited in art gallery
London, England – works for Tandy Halford and Mills architects. Converted ‘The Loose Box’ pub in Ewell to a wine bar using modernist typography and space age curves around windows.

1968

Manhattan, New York - works for Knoll International Planning Unit where he was provided with brief to 'internationalise' and 'Manhattanise' Sydney at the Bank of New South Wales, Martin Place

1969

Sydney, Australia - arrived to implement Bank of New South Wales interior
George Freedman begins a personal relationship with interior decorator Neville Marsh. Uncertain of returning to New York or remaining in Sydney

1970

George Freedman decides to remain in Sydney with his partner and joins Neville Marsh Interiors

1972

Partnership Pacific Sydney
Joins a community action group with Neville Marsh and Leo Schofield which can be credited for planting many London plane trees outside of Centennial Park in addition to other community improvements
‘Danesbank’ Milton, New South Wales– purchased 100 acre property with existing stone cottage

Manhattan, New York – Gotham Bar and Grill. Celebrates with martini in the company of his brother and sister in law as well as three of his intimate partners over his lifetime.
Ronald Vance, Andrew Bryan, & Peter O’Brien. George's Father had once ridden three horses simultaneously; a 'Troika'.

On this occasion George jokingly announced that that evening was his Troika.

2016

Died of cancer

Posthumous unbeknown to then clients it was determined he had already completed 80%, not 30%, of both a significant yacht on Sydney harbour as well as new interior designs for the Strand Arcade, opposite the Queen Victoria Building
 

2017

The same day a year after his death the dedication tree in Centennial Parklands near Kensington Pond was further acknowledged. It is located near the new cafe. A map is included in the images section.
